"On March 10th we had a retirement ceremony for the Goat and they even recalled Master Chief Greathouse who was the last enlisted pilot. The crew that day was stacked with a couple of CWOs and Master Chiefs. LT Elliot was the PIC as I recall. Anyway, I took leave that day so I could watch the ceremony and not stand at attention for a few hours. It was a snotty day with just about zero-zero weather. The enlisted guys assigned to Hangar 128 (fellow herdsmen) “manned the rail”; actually stood on both sides of the taxiway when the 7250 was taxied out. The pilots and crew did the normal taxi and run-up and headed down the runway, lifted off and immediately set back down. This was because they couldn’t see a damn thing. So, yes they did get off on the 10th and actually logged something like .2 hours, but I really don’t remember how much it wa." -Willy
