by Bryan David Snuffer is finally available in print and is ready to ship. This image was commissioned by the CGAA for presentaion to the Superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy. The painting will be turned over in late September at the Academy in New London. For those of you attending the Class of '62 Mini-Reunion we will be looking forward to seeing your there. Also in the week following this event Bryan will be attending the Pterodactyl Roost in Elizabeth City.
In this painting, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer on a residential home rooftop in suburban New Orleans signals to the helicopter above to hoist a young child. While the HH-60 aircraft above hovers consistently, it is low on fuel but has room for several more passengers. The swimmer decides to hoist the child without a basket to save precious time. Another helicopter is seen in the in the background, as there are no set patterns or grids to fly in. Below, nearly 14-foot-deep flood waters allow waterborne craft to navigate right to rooftops.
For a limited time the 750 count run will be available at $75.00 but will go up to full retaill after the event in Elizabeth City. Only the first 750 will have the PUC on the print as well as the signature of the artist. This is a 13x19" heavy weight print that will be shipped in a tube. It features the Presidential Unit Citation that was presented by President George W. Bush on May 25, 2006 in lieu of the efforts made by the Coast Guard at Hurricane Katrina. It also features the 'Remember Katrina' emblem in the lower title bar. Both images are pictured below. All other details are available on the .
