| Season's Greetings to You All and a Happy New Year! | |||||||
| I hope that trhis new year in 2008 has brought safety and happiness in family and home! I would like to kick off the new year by thanking you all for all of your kind words and friendship and for your patronage and support. The year of 2007 was a wonderful one in the friends that we have made and the projects that we have been able to pursue. In 2008 there are some really fun stuff that is going to happen. New Coast Guard pieces, new subject matters and images. I would like to thank all of you that have supported my work in the contributions that you have made in stories and subject matter. This year there are indedd some new and different turns in the subject matter that Bryan is adding to the store at BryanSnuffer.com. The 'Saints in Sou'Westers Collection' is a brand new line of prints and collectibles. This line explores the early US Life-Saving Service prior to the establishment of the US Coast Guard in 1915. These Surfman would guard the coastlines to rescue survivors of shipwrecks. The US Treasury Department established the US Life-Saving Service to prevent the loss of life and property on the sandbars and shoals of the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Great Lakes areas. 'Saints in Sou'Westers' are in limited supply so start your collection today. The first two Sketch Plates are available, "Surfman" and "Seven". both are 5x7 prints and are limited to 500 prints. There will a total of nine different images in 5x7 black and white format and four color plates scheduled. Once the third piece is released the first three will be released as a framed limited edition. The next two in line are "The Keeper" and "Midget of the Gull Shoal". Also the first color image is planned in a special project with The Coast Guard Channel entitled "Wave Warriors" but I will keep the details of that surpise to myself for now. Some brand directions in the near future. Bryan has been also doing a few portraits here and there and 2008 will lead the studion down the road of creating some Army images of subjects regarding the War In Iraq and Afghanistan. The first of these images will be of soldiers serving the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. "This should be some exciting work and I am very much looking forward to it!" I |

|||||||
| I am starting to work on sketches for this project that is one of a few that will cover subject matters in the US Army and US Air Force this year. With combat jumps into Afghanistan and Iraq this is one of the many units fighting the War On Terrorism. When this print comes out a portion of proceeds of this print will be allocated to support the members and their families. I will have more on this in future newsletters. For now I can direct you to their site for more information. | |||||||

| There are many ways that we can support the men and women of our armed services. One of the ways that have found and my family takes part in is through adoptaussoldier.org. It is easy to get involved an while we are not gaining a pen pal, we are gaining the ability to show our support and let them know we have not forgotten. | |||||||

| FMFA and "Coast Guard Reflections" | |||||||
| No new updates on this show yet as we have to arrange meetings to decide where the show is going at this point. We are running into space issues for this time slot and we have to work out where the work is going to hang. I will hopefully have more new and a more solid show design next newsletter. We talked last month a little about the upcoming show during the Coast Guard Festival in the summer of 2008. To keep you updated on this project our proud sponsors of the FMFA, Festival of Military Fine Arts and The Tri-Cities Museum in Grand Haven, Michigan are pleased to announce the showing of military artwork of Bryan David Snuffer and US Coast Guard Artist Dick Levesque. The Tri-Cities Museum will be hosting the exhibit during the week of the Coast Guard Festival in their Depo location along the beautiful Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan. We would love to see you there and if you are interested we will send to you a postcard when they are finished outlining the details and the dates. We will have more information to roll out on this subject in the near future so stay tuned. We would also like to invite you to visit the Exhibit Workbook to see the progression of the show and to view the pieces that are being committed to the exhibit. As late breaking news on the "Coast Guard Reflections" Exhibit next summer. There may be a third artist added to the show. A new site has been developed to show off the development of the exhibit. Click here for more detailed information. |

| In the Center Ring this month we are still talking about the upcoming pieces that will be available in 'The Saints in Sou'Westers Collection'. "The Keeper" and "Midget of the Gull Shoal" are coming up next. There were hopes that they would be done in mid-January but I am afraid that they will be later than that. Also "Not Tonight; the Creole Belle", I will be telling that story as well as that image starts to unfold in the studio. This is a painting that features the crew of CGAS Cape Cod and their heroic efforts to rescue the crew of the Creole Belle. A commercial fishing vessel that has become disabled in the ten foot seas of the Atlantic. |

| On the Home Front! |
| We are heading to Disney World in January and we will be gone from January 14th through the 22nd. As you have read above we will be able to be reached via cell or via email. I am very much looking forwar to this and we are also looking forward to connecting up with some friends while we are there. It will be a blast. The boys and I just got done watching "Band of Brothers" as part of their exploring the World War II era. It was very in formative for them and while I have made it a point to watch this program every Christmas now they saw it for the first time and absolutely loved it. It certainly brings home how we have to support the men a women in uniform and keep them in our prayers every day. We also as a family adopted a soldier through the adoptaussoldier.org website. A marine serving in Iraq has been assigned to us and it is sincere priviledge to be able to serve him in this way while he serves our country. I would strongly urge you to sign up it has been a wonderful experience, (even thought is not why we do!) Thank you very much for your patronage and support. Bryan |
